Roads, Water and Drainage BY5206
Course Description
The course is a basic introduction to road building with stress on the drainage system with ditches, tanks and piping and the dimensioning principles associated with both roads and the water drainage system. In addition, the course will consider the influence of traffic on the environment and society as a whole. Basic concepts about both construction costs and social costs will be considered. Technical equipment for the operation and maintenance of the road system will also be mentioned.
Road plans affect the premises for other physical land use plans and the course will examine the connection between the various technical fields associated with regulation plans, roads and water drainage systems.
Assessment Methods
Written examinations related to the lecture topics, two course component examinations during the course, each counting for 20% of the final grade, and a final examination counting for 60%. Individual grades will be given.
