Innovation and Entrepreneurship, specialization
Introduction
By choosing the course; specialization in Innovation & Entrepreneurship, you will developed your understanding of innovation, challenges industrial entrepreneurs, growth companies and government agencies are facing. You will be well equipped to meet the job market with increased an understanding of how intensive tasks can be solved through the use of practical and strategic methods. You will also be well prepared to develop a business idea in order to start your own company.
Target Group and Admission Requirements
The target group are people who are interested in and motivated to learn more about innovation and business development. This may be people, who have a business idea they want to develop today or in the future, or others who wish to participate in a learning environment in which creativity, learning and goal-oriented efforts are central.
Applicants must have completed two years of higher education studies, or possess prior experiential learning.
Aim of the Programme
The programme will provide students with the knowledge and understanding of how to manage innovation. Through project work students will receive training in how to cope with real-world problems and choices. Through courses, seminars and discussions students will learn to see the development process in a broader perspective, and gain knowledge of models and working methods which will result in better structures for managing processes which may seem chaotic to many.
Graduates will be well prepared to establish their own business; to work with development projects in the public and private sectors.
Learning outcome
Candidates from specialisation in Innovation and Entrepreneurship -
• have a good understanding of processes related to business development and systemisation of work related to this.
• have basic knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship, product development, intellectual property rights, start-up operation and decommissioning of various companies.
• has a very good basis to update and further develop their knowledge and skills in future employment.
• can participate actively in planning and implementing projects in companies or public sector and have knowledge of national funding agencies
Curriculum and structure
Course Overview

The study programme is taught over one year and comprises 60 ECTS credits.
Teaching and Learning Methods
Varied teaching and learning methods will be used in the courses which are included in the study programme, including: lectures, seminars, group assignments, individual assignments and study trips. Traditional teaching methods may be supplemented by active use of e-mail, online learning and IT-based modelling tools.
Assessment Methods
Candidates’ knowledge will be evaluated in all the courses in the study programme. The university college will use a variety of assessment methods. The types of assessment used are explained in the individual course descriptions.
