Learning outcome
After successfully completing the course, the candidate will have achieved the following learning outcomes defined in terms of knowledge, skills and general competence.
Knowledge
The candidate has knowledge of/is familiar with:
- Research in the field of arts and crafts as a school subject or in connection with industrial design development
- Different methods of collecting and processing data, and is able to relate these to his/her own discipline
- Some of the Master’s and graduate theses completed at the College
Skills
The candidate can:
- Use knowledge of the subject and relevant research methods to solve problems in creative processes and the analysis of artefacts
- Describe the structure of a scientific scholarly text and apply this in his/her own written work
General competence
The candidate can:
- Discuss and evaluate the results of a scientific study in the field
Course Description
Work on this course will provide knowledge and experience in basic methods and approaches to the acquisition, development and processing of knowledge.
The course will provide the basis for completing a Bachelor’s thesis.
Teaching and Learning Methods
The course includes lectures, seminars and group work. It is expected that the student is able to work independently.
The course will be taught concurrently with other courses in the autumn semester, and has a fixed timetable.
Assessment Methods
The course includes “passing points” related to course requirements.
Course work is evaluated on the basis of pass/fail.
