Learning outcome

After successfully completing the course, the candidate will have achieved basic knowledge of entrepreneurship as a social phenomenon:

  • Entrepreneurship: different meanings of the term
  • Entrepreneurial processes
  • The entrepreneur - the individual and his/her network
  • Entrepreneurial policy
  • Practical knowledge through fieldwork and case studies

Course Description

The course covers the following topics:

  • Entrepreneurship as a phenomenon and concept
  • Different types of entrepreneurship, and entrepreneurship in various sectors
  • The process from idea to implementation and operation
  • The entrepreneur as a person
  • Organization and networking
  • Fieldwork and case studies

Teaching and Learning Methods

2-3 hours of lectures per week during the autumn semester. Field work in groups with reporting. Subject literature studies and group work.

Assessment Methods

Group assignment (field work), which counts 40% of the final course grade, and individual written examination, which counts 60% of the final course grade. Both examinations must receive passing marks in order to receive a final passing grade for the course. A single final grade is given for the course.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
