Learning outcome

After successfully completing the course, the candidate will have achieved the following learning outcomes defined in terms of knowledge, skills and general competence.

Knowledge

The candidate has knowledge of:

  • The basic principles and values ​​in professional communication
  • Decision-making in nursing
  • Documentation systems in the municipal health services
  • Practical skills in nursing

Skills

The candidate can:

  • Apply basic skills in professional communication in simulated situations
  • Apply decision-making in nursing, including planning and documentation in simulated situations
  • Demonstrate basic practical nursing skills founded on evidence-based practice in simulated situations
  • Carry out basic first aid in simulated situations
  • Apply knowledge of the natural sciences, social sciences and nursing topics

General competence

The candidate can recognize:

  • The importance of developing interactive skills in communication with patients and their families
  • The complexity of performing basic practical skills in nursing

  • Communication: basic principles - relationships and contexts
  • Basis ideas and tools in decision-making in nursing
  • Basic practical skills in nursing
  • Basic first aid

Teaching and Learning Methods

Subject literature studies, digital learning resources, resource lectures and work in learning groups.

Assessment Methods

Individual test in basic practical skills in nursing in the Simulation Centre. Assessed as on a pass / fail basis.
Approved CPR at “Skills Station”. Assessed on a pass / fail basis.
