- Collect data in order to work with the problem by carrying out a literature search and contacting experts in the field
Skills
The candidate can:
- Conduct a systematic specification of a technical system, based on knowledge essential to the area of study
- Work independently and as part of a team in the planning and execution of experiments and engineering projects
- Find and evaluate information, literature and subject matter, and prepare and discuss this in English in a written report and oral presentation
-
Refer to the literature and other sources correctly
General competence
The candidate:
- Has experience of leadership, written and oral forms of presentation, group dynamics, scientific methods and has responsibility for their own work and that of others
- Has experience of international cooperation with regard to engineering issues
- Is aware of the environmental, ethical and economic implications of technological products, analyses and processes, and can view them in a local and global perspective
- Can communicate scientific knowledge to diverse audiences, both in writing and orally. The candidate can participate in discussions relevant to the subject, has respect and openness towards other disciplines, and is able to contribute to interdisciplinary work.
Course Description
A project on a technical problem will provide training in system design, working methods, and also in using relevant guidelines/standards in terms of technical, economic and other non-technical factors adapted to the students' specialization. The project may be research oriented and include international cooperation.
Teaching and Learning Methods
Group work with supervision. There is the possibility of a study trip abroad.
When practicable, it is desirable that the project is carried out in cooperation with an international project partner.
A project course will be developed (if the need arises) that is directed at relevant questions.
Assessment Methods
Project implementation, reporting and final presentation/examination. The project report and presentation will be in English. Candidates will be given individual grades.
The course may be subject to minor changes.
Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
