15NOSPRM2 Norwegian for Linguistic Minorities 2
Introduction
Norwegian for Linguistic Minorities 2 will provide students with insight into genre pedagogy, and how this can be used in second language teaching. The study programme also provides the opportunity for studies and development of the student’s own teaching practice through a specialization assignment.
Target Group and Admission Requirements
Target group: Teachers who teach pupils whose mother tongue is not Norwegian in primary and secondary schools, adult education, etc.
Admission requirements:
Norwegian for general teachers or equivalent (minimum 30 ECTS credits in Norwegian). It is recommended (but not required) that students have also taken and passed the study programme 15NOSPRM (Norwegian for Linguistic Minorities 1)
Aim of the Programme
The continuing education study programme aims to provide knowledge about language learning and didactics with an emphasis on genre pedagogy and development of pupils’ literacy. The study programme also provides students with the opportunity to study and develop their own teaching practice through a specialization assignment on a self-chosen topic.

Teaching and Learning Methods
The instruction consists of lectures and online group seminars. The communication between the college and the course participants takes place via the learning platforms Fronter and OmniJoin. The study programme includes group work in conjunction with online lectures. In the periods between workshops the students will work on assigned tasks, both individually and in groups. This will be done through written assignments and collaborative work through chat rooms.
