Course Description
Example:
The literary works of Tarjei Vesaas were some of the most innovative works in Norwegian literature during the 20th century, and much scholarly work has been devoted to his writings. Many of his texts may be characterized as “open”, with great potential for interpretation. As a result, his texts are interesting from the perspective of subject-related didactics. A range of different interpretative traditions has developed around Vesaas’s work, and the course content will reflect these traditions in different ways.
Teaching and Learning Methods
The course includes lectures, seminars and tutoring. The course requires considerable effort on the part of the student, among other things, in terms of giving presentations and responses to the work of other students.
The student will write a specialization assignment; the topic of the assignment will be chosen in consultation with course teachers. Work related to the assignment will be thematised in the teaching in various ways.
Assessment Methods
Two course requirements will be specified in the semester plan, which will be assessed as pass / fail; passing marks are a prerequisite for final assessment.
The final assessment consists of a specialization assignment (approx. 4000 words) that will be graded (60% of the final grade), and a 6-hour written exam that will also be graded (40% of the final grade).
Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
