Learning outcome

After completing the course the student should have the following learning outcomes in terms of knowledge, skills and competences:

• Rules for stapling and liquidation of enterprises

• Daily operation of enterprises

• Obtaining information on customers and competitors, and how this information can and should be used in efforts to achieve the goal and to establish a business in challenging markets

Course Description

• Development of business ideas and preparation of business plans
• Organization and registration of a student enterprise
• Planning, start-up, operation and winding up a student enterprise
• Work plan drafted according to guidelines described by Young Enterprise (YE)
• Intensive group work with the support of supervisor and mentor
• Theme seminars
• Exhibitions and competitions

Teaching and Learning Methods

2-3 hours of lectures and 1-2 hours of supervision per week during the fall and spring semester. Intensive group work where students take self-decisions and ensure good progress. A supervisor is assigned for each group, but the group must provide a mentor and an auditor according to UE`s requirements. There will be lectures in selected topics and compulsory milestones in form of assignments, presentations and seminars.Seminars, exhibitions and competitions contribute to an innovative interdisciplinary environment and inspire the students to do their best.

Assessment Methods

• Autumn assignment: Business plan (first version) and term-paper, in groups, graded mark (worth 40%)
• Spring assignment: Business plan (final version), annual report and account approved by the auditor and term-paper, in groups, graded mark (worth 60%)

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
