Course Description
The course will focus on several types of film, and emphasise grammar of film, experimental film and video art. The course emphasizes training in tools and planning with the aim of creating, executing and editing a film shooting. Students will work practically with film - in front of and behind the camera - and editing.
Teaching and Learning Methods
The course consists of approximately 260 hours of work, including approximately 100 hours teacher-led hours
- Workshops / seminar approx. 10 hours
- Lectures approx. 20 hours
- Instruction approx. 5 hours
- Supervision approx. 20 hours
Group work: approx. 200 hours. All scheduled work is mandatory which is indicated in the semester plan. The course alternates between study/discussion of film and experimenting with and making films. Practical work will be supervised. The work may be carried out in different locations and will be reviewed in the video workshop and classroom.
Assessment Methods
Continual informal supervision and evaluation is part of the learning process and a means for the student to gain greater insight into their own academic requirements for further studies and future professional careers. All the course assignments must be given passing marks in order to be given a final passing mark. A graded mark from A-F will be entered on the diploma, where A represents the highest passing mark, and E the lowest.
