Course Objectives

Understand principles and theory of transformers, DC machines, the synchronous machine, AC machines.

Course Description

The construction, physical principles, and operation of electric machinery. Electric and magnetic fields, transformers, fundamental power electronics including harmonic problems, DC/AC variable speed motor drive systems applied to different load characteristics and modes of operation, induction heating.

Learning Methods

Lectures, exercises, simulations, laboratory work.

Assessment Methods

Under way exams and tests (30 %), final exam (70 %).
