Course Objectives

The objective is to gain competence in analysing aspects of technical safety.

Course Description

The course covers the following topics: Toxicology, estimating leakage rates, dispersion, fire hazards and explosions. Hazard identification using rough calculations and HAZOP, as well as laws and regulations. The course will also provide practical examples to illustrate the theory and methods which provide the basis for analyses in the process and offshore industry.

Assessment Methods

Mid-term test 30%; individual, written final examination counts 70%.
