Course Objectives

Students will acquire skills in techniques of calculation and construction, and become acquainted with technical terminology and learn how to use standards and catalogue material.

Course Description

Strength calculation of machine parts. Dimensioning of weld joints, screw joints, key joints, pressure joints, shrink joints. Description and calculation of shafts and belt transmissions. Machine dynamics. Fatigue.

Learning Methods

Lectures, supervision, and calculation exercises.

Assessment Methods

Final written examination.

Students must have participated in the practical assignments in order to sit the final examination.
