Course Objectives

Students will be given the opportunity to make an in-depth study of a topic within the field of GIS, and use this knowledge in a project work. In order to experience and train how to tackle the problems project work entails, and to get an insight into methods and issues they may meet when working with GIS in various sectors of society.

Course Description

The project work is an important synthesising part of the one-year programme of study in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) – Further Studies. The work will be carried out by project groups. Planning, management, follow up, cartographical communication, presentation and reporting of important components of the project work. Each member of the group is responsible for the project work.

Learning Methods

Group supervision and seminars during the spring semester.

Assessment Methods

Assessment of the group’s project work. 1-3 obligatory presentations at the various phases of the project work.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
