Course Objectives
The aim of the course is to provide students with deeper insight into genetic processes and the interaction between heredity and environment.

The basic principles of hereditary characteristics
The interaction between genes and environment
Coupling, recombination and genetic-mapping
Bacteria and viral genetic systems
DNA replication and recombination, transcription and translation
Mutations and DNA repair
Recombinant DNA technology and genomics

45 hours of lectures
Obligatory: practice exercises
Assessment Methods
Written 4-hour final examination, which must receive a passing grade. Submitted practice exercises must be approved prior to taking the final examination.
