Course Objectives

Students will learn to apply the principles of technical drawing and acquire skills in using appropriate modern computer tools for the effective production of 3-D models in mechanical drawing.

Course Description

Introduction to fundamentals of 3D modelling starting with the basics, user environment, building profiles, drawing functions, integration of parts, generating working diagrams, drawing border and title block, modifications, dimensioning, scaling, details, compilation, exploded diagrams, parts-lists and the printing/plotting of drawings.

Learning Methods

Lectures, guidance and drawing exercises.

If students lack courses from the foundation part, these topics will be taught separately.

Assessment Methods

Written final examination.

Students must complete the practical exercises from the course before they will be permitted to sit the final examination.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
