Maps and Surveying 5701
Course Objectives
Students will acquire knowledge of the methods, equipment and computer programmes for basic surveying.
Course Description
Measurement of specific locations using Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and total station.
Calculation of land-area; data-exchange and planning information.
Learning Methods
3-4 hours lectures and lab practice per week during the autumn semester.
Assessment Methods
Obligatory individual home-assignments and written examination, 4-hours. The home-assignments count for 40 % of the final grade and the final examination counts for 60 %. The obligatory assignments must be approved before students will be permitted to sit the final examination. Students must receive passing marks on all parts of the assessment.
