Course Objectives

The aim of Organisation II is to provide students with knowledge of, and insight into, how individuals behave in organisations, how an organisation’s processes work and how organisations are managed. Further, the course aims to equip students with the necessary skills so that they will be able to use a framework of concepts and theories to address practical situations and problems faced by organisations.

Course Description

The course includes the following main topics:

  • Changes in organisations
  • Learning, innovation and knowledge
  • Leadership in organisations
  • Teams and networks
  • Systems of reward

Learning Methods

3-4 hours of lectures per week during the autumn semester.

Assessment Methods

Written examination, 4 hours. During the course students will also answer two practical assignments related to concepts and theories which are included in the course literature. The assignments are not mandatory. The assignments should preferably be answered in groups of 5-6 students. The assignments should be submitted to the subject teacher who will provide comment and feedback. The aim of the assignments is to provide students with training in using the course material in relation to practical situations or problems which may be encountered in an organisation. The assignments will also provide students with important practical training in preparation for the examination.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
