Course Objectives
The course will provide students with a solid understanding of the role of the estate agent, his/her duties and areas of responsibility, both with respect to the customers, the public, public authorities and the property industry. The course builds on Practical Estate Agency Brokerage I. Students will be provided with knowledge regarding valuation, building matters and building construction theory, as well as estate agency brokerage of commercial properties, sale of agricultural properties, management of property projects and the practical aspect of the financing of property purchases. This will provide students with the skills and knowledge that will enable them to carry out all types of property sales. The course will also provide students with knowledge regarding the legal aspects of establishing property businesses.
Course Description
The course covers the valuation of properties, the processing of building cases and building construction theory. Further, the course will include the estate agency brokerage of commercial properties with a focus on the similarities and differences between residential and commercial properties; valuation; as well as tasks in the rental market. The course will also examine the sale of agricultural property, various practical and legal problems, and case procedure in such matters. The course will consider the management of property projects, focusing amongst other things on the relationship between the development company and the estate agent. The course will also provide an introduction to the law regarding the establishment of estate agency businesses.
Learning Methods
4-6 hours of lectures per week in the spring semester.
Assessment Methods
Written individual examination, 5 hours.
