Course Objectives

Be able to do calculations on alternating current circuits with passive linear components.
Develop skills in using simulation tools.

Course Description

Serial and parallel AC circuits. Network analyses. Resonance circuits. Passive filters. Three-phase systems.

Learning Methods

Lectures, laboratory work in groups, simulation of circuitry, written exercises. The software programme Maple is used in mathematics.

Assessment Methods

Laboratory assessment 20%, mid term test 20% and 60% written final examination.

Laboratory assessment has to be passed to obtain a final grade.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
