Computer Programming EE2109

Course Objectives

The student will acquire knowledge of, and skills in, basic principles of programming common to the majority of programming languages, and shall be abel to develope event driven windows applications using an object oriented programming language. In addition to learning how to use ready-made objects, the students will also be able to construct simple self-made classes and objects.

Course Description

The students will learn how to use components (Objects) and their characteristics and occurrence, and how to develope event driven user interfaces. The course covers the basic use of variables, loops, decisions, files, subroutines, functions, parameters, exception handling, data structures, classes and objects. An object oriented programming language is used as a computing tool.

Learning Methods

The instruction is organised in the form of lectures, practical assignments and independent study. Understanding and competence is enhanced through the active use of the students’ laptop computers.

Assessment Methods

Continuous assessment (30%) and final written examination (70%).

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
