Project Management in Building and Construction BY6006

Course Objectives

Work towards deeper insight into project management, with a focus on understanding interactions between processes and participants wich affects the projects amount of succsess. NB! The subject is for civil engineering students, only.

Course Description

Project management aimed at building and construction projects. Main subjects is: The engineer in an historical context, ethics at work, The building process: concepts, characteristics, phases, content and players. Models of accomplishment: contracting, contract types, contract forms, organisation. Cost estimation and cost monitoring, project and production planning, BIM, quality systems. Health, Environment and Safety (HES) and facilillity planning (FDV).

Learning Methods

Lectures, practical assignments, and at times, guest lectures and/or study-excursions to relevant projects.

Assessment Methods

Written final examination (counts 100%). Individual or group assignments must be submitted and must receive "Accepted" in order to take the final exam. The assigments will be relevant to the final examination.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
