Course Objectives
The candidate will get an overview of the status and perspectives of energy production technologies for renewable and conventional energy sources and energy carriers.
Course Description
Global energy use and demand. Scenarios and strategies to meet challenges that increasing energy use constitutes. Examples of sustainable energy technologies. Hydrogen as an energy carrier, fuel cells, description of different forms of renewable energy, e.g. solar (thermal), solar (photovoltaic), and wind energy. Traditional power generation technology. Environmental aspects of energy production and utilization.
Learning Methods
Seminars and individual study. Student activity is expected.
In addition, central topics are lectured by experts in the various fields from TUC and industry.

Assessment Methods
The final test count 100%. A mandatory assignment/task must be completed in order to sit for the exam. Grades A-F are used.
No aids permittet at the final exam. Calculators will be handed out at the exam.
Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
