ICT Web Publishing 3320
Course Objectives
The main aim of this course is to provide arts and culture students with skills that will enable them to publish on the web. Through the theoretical syllabus and practical exercises, students will acquire knowledge of how the Internet is structured, how it works and what it can be used for. The course will also provide students with an introduction to the effect of digitalisation on culture and society.
Course Description
Internet’s structure and function. HTML standard and other standards that are relevant for using the web. Development of static web documents and style rules. Introduction to what constitutes good design of web pages. Practice in the development and publishing of web pages by using simple word processor programmes.
Learning Methods
Seven 3-hour sessions in computer lab, and three 3-hour practice sessions in computer lab.
Assessment Methods
Individual assignment that counts for 40% of the final grade, 4-hour final school examination which counts 60%.
Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
