Course Objectives

Students will gain knowledge of planning and management in the cultural sector. They will develop a basic, analytical understanding of the history of modern planning. We will also focus on how different types of planning and project management attempt to realise goals and values.

Course Description

Main topics:

Planning in a historical context; visions, aims, and methods

Planning theory and practice

Planning and organising in the cultural sector

Learning Methods

Lectures, group assignments, discussions and presentations.

Assessment Methods

Individual, written midterm which counts for 30% of the final grade; Individual written paper which counts for 70%.

The student must receive passing marks on all parts of the assessment in order to receive a final passing grade for the course.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
