Business Law 6006

Course Objectives

The course provides students with an introduction to business law. The aim is to provide students with a grounding in the discipline of law, and provide insight into the legal thought process, as well as develop students’ ability to make judgements and solve practical problems involving law and legal issues.

Sources of law, contract law, sale of goods law, financial claims

Learning Methods

3 hours of lectures per week in the spring semester.

The course in Business Law fulfils the first part (7.5 credits) of the 5353 Law Accountancy Examination, 15 credits. Students taking a 3-year Bachelor’s degree programme in Accountancy will not have completed Business Law 6006 (7.5 credits) after one semester; they will have completed the 5353 course after two semesters with an examination comprising 15 credits.

Assessment Methods

Written examination, 4 hours.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
