Course Objectives

The course will provide insight into the different analysis methods used in GIS, and they will learn how to use this in different situations. The course will consider theory in relation to practical problems, and provide students with practice in the use of programme software in the relevant topics.

Course Description

The course will provide spatial analysis of vector GIS and raster. Actual topics are overlay operations, scales, network analysis, linear referencing,interpolation techniques, terrain modelling, hydrolgical modelling, spatial statistical methods including spatial autocorrelation, point pattern analysis, polygon-neighborhood analysis, decision support analysis and fuzzy modelling, and cartography.

Learning Methods

4 hours of lectures, 4 hours exercises per week over 11 weeks in the spring semester.

Assessment Methods

Compulsory assignments must be submitted and receive passing marks before students will be allowed to take the final examination. Final, written examination, 4 hours.
