Course Objectives

The course will provide students with a solid understanding of the role of the estate agent, his/her duties and areas of responsibility, both with respect to the customers, the public, public authorities and the property industry. The course builds on Practical Estate Agency Brokerage I. Students will be provided with knowledge regarding valuation, building matters and building construction theory, as well as estate agency brokerage of commercial properties, sale of agricultural properties and management of property projects. This will provide students with the skills and knowledge that will enable them to carry out all types of property sales.

Course Description

The course covers the valuation of properties, the processing of building cases and building construction theory.The course will also deal with the conversion of properties into individual units. Further, the course will include the estate agency brokerage of commercial properties with a focus on the similarities and differences between residential and commercial properties. The course will also examine the sale of agricultural property, various practical and legal problems, and case procedure in such matters. The course will consider the management of property projects, focusing amongst other things on the relationship between the development company and the estate agent.

Learning Methods

4-6 hours of lectures per week in the spring semester. Students will also be given the opportunity to submit assignments (optional).

Assessment Methods

Written individual examination, 5 hours.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
