Practical Training: Health-Oriented Social Education Work and Rehabilitation 061-E8
Course Objectives
When students have completed course 8 they will:
Knowledge
- have knowledge of the responsibilities and organization of municipal health services
- have knowledge and understanding of the service recipient’s rights
- have knowledge of nursing and care / health care procedures in practical training studies
- have a broad knowledge of social educators health care responsibilities
Skills
- be able to carry out basic nursing and care / health care procedures in practical training studies
- be able to carry out the social educator’s health professional tasks and responsibilities and be able to document, quality-assure and evaluate their own work
- be able to guide users, relatives and colleagues
- be able to use methods to change the various parameters for the benefit of service recipients
Competence
- be able to identify and reflect on ethical issues, the ethical plan of action and be able to identify value conflicts
- be able to use and develop the theoretical and practical knowledge in the practical training field that carries out health-oriented social education work and rehabilitation
- be aware of how personal characteristics are also part of the professional practice of the profession
- contribute to cooperation in rehabilitation
Course Description
The content of the course is based on the national curriculum’s requirements regarding the distribution of credits, which functions as a guideline for the clarification of the course plan.
Law - 2 ECTS credits; medical and natural science topics - 2 ECTS credits; nursing and care - 4 ECTS credits; mental health work - 4 ECTS credits; skills and behaviour learning 2 ECTS credits; welfare work - 1 ECTS credit; communication, interaction and conflict resolution - 1 ECTS credit.
Learning Methods
The practical training studies in health care require that students develop a high degree of independence in methodical work. Practical training studies are supervised one hour per student per week at the practical training location. In addition, students will participate in reflection groups and be followed up at the college.
Assessment Methods
Course code 061-E8: Health-oriented social educational work and rehabilitation – assessment assignment
Assessment assignment is based on practical training studies. Individual written assignment (4000 words); Pass / Fail.
There may be as many as four course requirements; one of these is the approval of the practical training studies. The course requirements must be approved before the completion of the course can be approved. The course requirements are described in the course plan.
Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
