Course Description
The content of the course is based on the national curriculum’s requirements regarding the distribution of credits, which functions as a guideline for the clarification of the course plan.
National and Local Knowledge, Health and Social Policy - 3 ECTS; Scientific Theory and Research Methodology - 2 ECTS; Sociology and Social Anthropology - 2 ECTS; General, and Social Psychology - 2 ECTS; Clinical Psychology and Mental Health - 2 ECTS; General and Special Education - 3 ECTS; Social Pedagogy - 2 ECTS; Ethics and Professional Roles - 2 ECTS; Communication, Interaction and Conflict Resolution - 3 ECTS; Child Care Initiatives - 3 ECTS; Community Work - 3 ECTS; Activities Subjects – 3ECTS.
The student’s area of specialisation and practical training location should be professionally challenging and relevant to the core areas of knowledge.

Practical training studies; supervision; seminars; self-study; group work; written and oral presentations.
Assessment Methods
Course code 070-E10: Specialisation – Bachelor’s Thesis and Oral Examination.
The Bachelor’s thesis comprises 14 ECTS and is based on the practical training. During the period of practical training, the students should apply child welfare skills in the planning, implementation and evaluation of work which the practical training location is able to accommodate. The student should also obtain the necessary data for the work that will be carried out.
The Bachelor’s thesis is a group assignment, but individual responses can also be approved. Group responses: 8000 to 10, 000 words. Individual responses: 6000 - 8000 words.
Graded marks. The title and grade of the Bachelor’s thesis will be recorded on the diploma.
The individual oral examination will be based on the Bachelor’s thesis. In addition, the student may be asked questions from the obligatory or self-chosen syllabus for the third year, and central concepts and themes from the 1st and 2nd years of study. The Bachelor’s thesis must receive a passing grade prior to taking the oral examination. The grade for the Bachelor’s thesis is given before the oral examination. The oral examination may influence the grade for the assessment assignment 10-1.

There is one course requirement related to the completion of practical training.
