Natural Gas Conversion D0908

Learning outcome

A candidate who has passed the course will have a learning outcome in the form of acquired knowledge, skills, and general competence, as described below.

Knowledge

The candidate will learn the chemical, catalytic, thermodynamic, kinetic and reaction engineering background to chemical gas conversion.

Skills

The candidate will be able to analyse current available technology as well as the corresponding research frontiers.

General competence

The candidate will, through project work, be enabled to identify and independently assess current research and development at an international level.

Course Description

The course reviews the basic principles of catalysis and the related basics of thermodynamics, kinetics, reaction engineering and gas conversion chemistry. Today’s gas conversion technology will be examined and current research frontiers will be reviewed and analysed.

Teaching and Learning Methods

Lectures and exercises.

Assessment Methods

Project presentation (counts 30 %) and final written examination (counts 70 %).

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
