If there are insufficient staff to cover the demand for assignments, students will be selected on the basis of previous marks.
Teaching and Learning Methods
A project assigment is a course of supervised independent study, which may be in the form of a literature study, field work, laboratory work or analysis of existing data.
The project's scope should be the equivalent of 250 - 350 sides in a textbook.
Assessment Methods
The students work will be judged primarily on the basis of a written report of approximately 25 sides, including references.
Following report submission, each student will conduct a 15-minute oral presentation of their project assignment, followed by 5 minutes for questions. Presentations will be scheduled near the end of the semester in late May or late November. Oral presentations will be open for interested staff and students. The final grade may be adjusted on the basis of the quality of the presentation. Postponement of submission, or oral presentation, requires a medical certificate.
Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
