Course Objectives

This foundation course provides students with an introduction to the legal system of the European Community (EC) and the European Economic Area (EEA), Norway’s relation to the European Union (EU), and gives an insight into significant international rules.

Course Description

This course gives an introduction to Norwegian constitutional law and international law. It describes central elements of the EU/EEA legislation, the organisational structure in the EU and EEA, the four freedoms regulating the internal market and the legislation in the field of private and public competition (e.g. state subsidies and public procurement).

Learning Methods

3-4 hours of lectures per week in the spring semester.

Assessment Methods

Written examination, 4 hours.
