5502 Linear Algebra
Course Objectives
The course will provide students with an introduction to elementary linear algebra, which is the branch of mathematics concerned with the study of vectors and systems of linear equations. The course is useful to students who wish to study economics, the natural sciences or information technology.
Course Description
The course focuses on systems of linear equations, matrices and determinants, vector calculations, plane and spatial geometry. The course includes extensive use of assignments and practical examples.
Learning Methods
3-4 hours of instruction per week in the spring semester. The course is not taught every year.
Assessment Methods
Obligatory assignments which must be approved before students will be permitted to sit the final examination. Written examination, 4 hours.
Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
