5601 Hardware and Software
Course Description
The historical-technological development of computer programmes and programme languages. Digital representation of data, computer architecture, operative systems, office-support tools, protection of privacy and security. Use of information technology.
Learning Methods
6-7 hours of lectures/assignments/supervision per week in the autumn semester.
Assessment Methods
Individual, 2-hour written mid-term examination, 1-3 group assignment(s) which must be submitted, and an individual, written 3-hour final examination. The mid-term examination counts for 40% and the final examination counts for 60% of the final grade. The home-assignments and all other parts of the assessment must receive passing marks.
Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
