5906 Project Management

Course Objectives

Students will learn about project management, which is the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to a broad range of activities in order to meet the requirements of a particular project.

Course Description

The course is mainly based on the concept of the Project Management Institute (PMI).
The main focus will be on the description of scope, planning and follow up of projects.

Learning Methods

2-4 hours of lectures and exercises per week. Group work and presentations.

Assessment Methods

Submitted obligatory assignment(s), which count for 40 % and a 3-hour individual final examination which counts for 60 % of the final grade. At the start of the course, students will receive information concerning the number of obligatory assignments; these must be submitted and approved before students will be permitted to sit the final examination. Students must receive passing marks on all parts of the assessment.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
