The aim of the course is to provide students with deeper insight into genetic processes and the interaction between heredity and environment.

• The basic principles of hereditary characteristics
• The interaction between genes and environment
• Coupling, recombination and genetic-mapping
• Bacteria and viral genetic systems
• DNA replication and recombination, transcription and translation
• Mutations and DNA repair
• Recombinant DNA technology and genomics

Obligatory: practice exercises

Assessment Methods

Written 4-hour final examination, which must receive a passing grade. Submitted practice exercises must be approved prior to taking the final examination.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
