1220 Management of Outdoor Life

Course Objectives

The course provides students with insight into outdoor life management in Norway today.

Course Description

- Outdoor life policies, right of access, laws and regulations, public documents and guidelines
- History of management and administration
- Public management locally and centrally: levels and departments
- Principal problem areas within management of outdoor life: conflicts and challenges
- Principal voluntary organisations within the field of outdoor life
- Management of outdoor life in Nordic and other countries

Learning Methods

Instruction is given during the autumn semester.
The course includes lectures, independent student study, seminars and group work. Assignments are handed out during the lectures.

Assessment Methods

4-hour individual written graded examination

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
