Electrotechnology EE3006
Course Objectives
Students will:
- Gain knowledge of: Fourier series - definitions and concepts.
- Be able to develop functions in Fourier series.
- Gain knowledge of definitions and concepts relating to functions of several variables.
- Be able to use the theory concerning functions of several variables as a basis for amongst other things miscalculations.
- Be able to calculate alternating current with passive linear components.
- Develop skills in using simulation tools.
Course Description
- Fourier series: Periodic functions; Fourier sinus series and Fourier cosine series; half-periodic lengths.
- Functions of several variables: Functions with two or more variables; partial derivative functions; differentials and final differences; and miscalculations.
- Serial and parallel connected alternating current circuits.
- Network analyses.
- Resonance circuits.
- Passive filters.
- Three-phase systems.
Learning Methods
Lectures, laboratory group work, simulation of circuitry, written exercises. The software programme Maple is used in mathematics.
Assessment Methods
