High-voltage Engineering EK6006
Course Objectives
To gain insight into how overloads affect high-voltage installations and acquire an understanding of the components of high-voltage plants.
Course Description
Lightning overloads and their transmission in electrical networks, circuit overvoltage and temporary overvoltage. High-voltage components such as cables, fuses, switches and the surge diverters will be discussed. Discharging mechanisms.
Learning Methods
Lectures, calculation exercises, laboratory assignments and excursions.
Assessment Methods
Written individual tests with and without supervision (20%), completed laboratory exercises (20%) and written final examination (60%).
