Course Objectives

The Master’s thesis is an independent scientific work in which the student will demonstrate insight into current research, theories and methodology which are relevant in approaching the chosen problem.

The Master’s thesis and Master’s degree seminars (methodological specialisation and Master’s degree colloquiums) will provide the student with an opportunity for developing skills which will enable him/her to complete the research project. This work will include gathering the necessary data with regard to the problem the student chooses for the project, as well as the ability to analyse and discuss the problem from various theoretical approaches.

Major course unit 4. Master’s degree project

The student will prepare and submit an independent Master’s degree thesis of not more than 100 pages. This limit may be exceeded by a maximum of 10%. The Master’s thesis must be submitted within a fixed deadline which is specified at the beginning of the 3rd semester.

A preliminary grade will be assigned for the thesis until the student is called upon to defend his/her work in an oral examination.

A combined grade for the Master’s thesis and oral defence will be given on a scale from A-F.

The Master’s degree thesis and defence will count for 50% of the final grade for the Master’s degree.

The Master’s degree programme counts for 60 ECTS.

The title of the thesis will be recorded on the diploma.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
