Course Objectives

The student will:

Acquire insight into the normal structure of the human body, its development and functions during the life cycle.

Develop an understanding of the interaction between people, the environment, lifestyle, health and illnesses.

Learn about the dissemination of diseases and the factors that affect people’s health.

Acquire skills in medication calculation.

Acquire an understanding of nutritional physiology, preventative nutrition and the nourishment of children and adolescents.

Assessment Methods

Examination in anatomy and physiology

Individual written 6-hour examination (no examination aids permitted).

The examination is evaluated with a graded mark and provides 18 ECTS.

050E03-1 SMI

Examination in microbiology and the prevention of communicable diseases

Two-part 4-hour written examination (no examination aids permitted).

The examination is assessed on a pass/fail basis.

Both the microbiology and the prevention of communicable diseases parts must be 60% correct in order to receive a passing mark.

050E03-1 MED

Examination in medication calculation

Individual 2-hour written examination. Unprogrammed calculators are permitted.

The examination is assessed on a pass/fail basis.

According to the regulations of the national curriculum the examination in medication calculation must be 100% correct.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
