PhD Process, Energy and Automation Engineering, doktorgrad

Innledning

The PhD programme in Process, Energy, and Automation Engineering focuses on sustainable solutions for energy, off-shore, and process industries based on a cross-disciplinary approach.

The programme is taught in English and is offered in close cooperation with regional R&D institutions and industries.

The PhD programme is highly internationally orientated with many students coming from abroad. We welcome applications from cooperating universities all over the world.

Målgruppe og opptakskrav

Applicants must hold a masters degree or equivalent in technology or science. To be admitted the applicant must demonstrate sufficient funding. TUC offers a number of scholarships which regularly are advertised on the web (www.hit.no, see Job Vacancies).

Careers and further opportunities

The PhD-title is international renowned and qualifies for an academic career as well as specialist jobs in industry and research.

The successful candidate can find employment within the government, academic institutions, many industries, or research institutes in Norway or internationally.

INFORMATION

Students must choose either Process Analytical Technology or Matrix Methods.

A number of PhD courses are offered by TUC. A few of these are mandatory courses, whereas most of them are electives (see tables below). In addition, the PhD student may take relevant PhD courses at other institutions or courses with individual curricula.

The programme has three years duration: It consists of 2.5 years individual thesis work and PhD-level courses of in total 30 credits.

Compulsory courses:

  • Philosophy of Science and Ethics (5 credits)
  • Matrix methods or Process data analysis (5 credits)

Select among several courses within Data analysis, Modelling, Process Technology, and Energy Technology suited to the candidate’s individual topic.

Det tas forbehold om mindre justeringer i planen.
