Industrial Information Technology SCE2006
Læringsmål
Acquire basic knowledge of devices and modules in a SCADA system. Understand the communication concepts of interconnection of the devices, modules and information within a SCADA system and to external systems. Acquire basic knowledge about configuration, data flow, data security, and testing of SCADA systems.
Innhold
A SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) system consists often of different hardware devices and software modules interconnected in a distributed architecture. The devices can be PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), PAC (Programmable Automation Controllers), and DCSs (Distributed Control Systems). The contents of the course will focus on the interconnection of such devices, distribution of information, real-time requirements and the usage of software modules like databases, user interface, alarm system and safety modules in a SCADA system. Subjects like combinatory and sequential control with continuous time control, testing, data security and embedded systems will also be addressed regarding a SCADA system.
Organisering
Lectures, laboratory work, excursions and assignments.
Vurderingsformer
The mandatory assignments count 40% of the final grade and an individual written test counts 60% of the final grade. The course has six mandatory assignments. All mandatory assignments and the final test must be passed to get a final grade better than F. No study aids are permitted on the final test.
