After completing the course the student
• participate in planning and development of IT systems and IT infrastructure for various organizations,
• evaluate ethical and legal aspects of the use of electronically stored information,
• understand the basic assumptions that electronic business models based on
• understand the role of electronic information in internal business processes.
The student will have skills in:
• design and development of models in spreadsheets for business purposes,
• design and development of text document templates,
• design and development of presentations.

Innhold

Themes in the theoretical material is:

  • Computers and operating systems, structure and function.
  • Networks, internet access and interaction.
  • Legislation and electronic information processing.
  • Ethics and information processing.
  • Network and data security.
  • Prerequisites for electronic business models.

Themes in the practically oriented material:

  • The use of styles and templates for long documents.
  • How to make good presentations?
  • Basics of spreadsheets, formulas and functions.
  • The use of logical functions to make the models more robust.
  • How to build up the charts?
  • Representation of time in the spreadsheet
  • The use of spreadsheets for financial analysis.
  • Major and minor spreadsheet models with practical examples.

Vurderingsformer

Final written examination, 4 hours. The required mandatory tasks mentioned above are considered "approved" or "not approved". Mandatory tasks must be approved to take the exam.
