Project SCE4006
Læringsmål
The purpose of the project work is to give the students experience in practical project work in small groups ( preferably 2-6 students). The work should be based on using the knowledge from the courses in the MSc Programme.
Innhold
Practical project work preferably in co-operation with industry, and in so far as possible of a cross disciplinary nature. The assignments will normally be of a nature that requires use of knowledge from different subject areas, and the project groups can consist of students coming from the different study programmes. The main knowledge solving the tasks should be based on the courses from the MSc Programmes. Assignments can also be research related and be carried out within the different research groups in the departments. The assignments may necessitate that the students attain higher theoretical understanding within a specific subject field not yet being taught (or being taught at all) in their course of study. The work can be of both a theoretical or of an experimental and practical nature. In some cases one single student can be allowed to carry out a project alone.
Organisering
The work is to be carried out as would have been done in real life, in a team work situation. The students will have an introduction to practical project work, and are expected to use this competence to carry out the project. Each group will be assigned a tutor from the college and a co-tutor preferably from industry.
Vurderingsformer
The results of the work is to be documented in a written report using the English language. Grades will be awarded based on the report and an oral examination of the work. Students must participate actively in the accomplishment of the project in order to be graded. The written report counts more towards the final grade than the oral examination. Grades will be given on an individual basis. If different individual grades are awarded within a project group, a justification is required.
Det tas forbehold om mindre justeringer i planen.
