The students will learn systems theory of dynamic systems, and methods and tools for design and simulation of control systems.

Innhold

Importance of control engineering for solving industrial and environmental problems. Mathematical modelling of physical processes. System theory of dynamic systems. PID control. Cascade control. Feedforward control. Control structures for industrial processes. Sequential control. Automation technology. PC-based measurement, control and simulation with LabVIEW.

Lectures. Theoretical exercises. Computer-based exercises. Simulation assignment. Laboratory assignment.

Vurderingsformer

Individual written final examination counts for 100% of the final grade. To obtain higher final grade than F, the simulation assignment and the laboratory assignment must be accomplished satisfactorily.
