Læringsmål
The course explores the complexities of corporate financial management in an international setting, where companies are subject to exchange rate risk. Exchange rate theories and their practical implications are analysed, as well as the merit of foreign exchange risk management. The course also aims to provide students with a thorough understanding of international investment and financing decisions. The course emphasises the practical implications of finance theory and its application in international finance.
Innhold
The course covers topics such as:
· Exchange Rates and the Monetary System
· Parity Relationships in International Finance.
· International Financial Markets.
· Foreign Exchange Risks and Exposure.
· Capital Structure for the MNC, and Comparative Capital
· International Capital Budgeting
· Portfolio Theory and International Diversification
· Foreign Direct Investments and Cross-Border Acquisitions.
Organisering
2 hours of lectures per week and one hour of tutorial/small group work per week
Vurderingsformer
Essay (30%). Written individual exam, 4 hours (70%).
