Teaching and Learning Methods

Students’ acquisition of knowledge and skills takes place in several ways: Problem-oriented learning, lectures, practice, project work, self-study and field trips.
Throughout the year, students work with a joint venture in which they choose the topic. A separate study trip of roughly one-week’s duration is included in the project. Students will use this week to compare the results of their project with another country. The project will be presented both in writing and through an open seminar (The Telemark Conference).
The study programme focuses on methods that improve collaboration and independent work, and using situations that occur or are created in the course of the programme as educational tools. The learning situations are largely aimed at working with projects in teams and independently. Consequently, students have their own student office with all the modern tools they will use in their future professional roles. Subsequently, the study programme also provides students with work training.

Theory and Practical Training

Students will complete a period of practical training which will provide them with the opportunity to apply knowledge, skills, theories, methods and models that they have acquired through the study programme.

Assessment Methods

The forms of assessment are based on attendance of mandatory instruction, approved portfolio assignments and practical training reports, written and oral examinations.

Minor adjustments may occur during the academic year, subject to the decision of the Dean
