Introduction
The aim of the study programme is to further develop students’ professional skills and knowledge in working with children aged three and under.
Target Group and Admission Requirements
The study programme is aimed at subject teachers, child care educators and special educators who require qualifications equivalent to preschool teachers. The study programme provides, along with the Nursery Pedagogy, skills in working as an educational leader in the nursery.
Aim of the Programme
The study programme is aimed at those who want to work in a professional capacity with the children aged three and under. The programme will equip students with new knowledge regarding recent research related to this age group. The aim of the programme is to develop the students’ insight and professional skills in working with young children. The programme focuses on the importance of play, learning and development.
Curriculum and structure

The study programme is comprised of two components of 15 ECTS each. Other subjects will be included as part of component 1 and constitute a total of 6 ECTS credits.

2. Approaches to Children and Childhood, and the Role of Adults

Teaching and Learning Methods
The study programme provides variation in teaching methods; for instance, lectures, projects and discussions / guidance will be key elements in the teaching. The classroom is seen as a meeting place for reflection, discussion and knowledge. The programme will be based on the learning material, students’ experiences and knowledge, and students’ and teachers’ issues concerning the various topics. Discussions and supervision online are also important teaching methods.
